Iran Says It Sent War-End Terms. Washington Brags a Blockade. Delaware Still Pays.
Seven months in. Tehran says it sent Washington a path to end the fighting. The Pentagon’s Gulf commander brags an “ironclad blockade.” Delaware still pays at the pump. That is Day 99.
What Tehran says it sent
Mohsen Rezaei - secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council - told Al Jazeera that Tehran has conveyed conditions for ending the war to the White House through Qatari mediators and is awaiting President Trump’s response. Those are Iranian official claims. They are not a signed deal, a ceasefire, or proof Washington accepted anything.
Publicly, Rezaei has named three demands: end the war “on all fronts,” unfreeze Iranian assets, and lift the U.S. naval blockade. Separate reporting says seven conditions were conveyed; the full list has not all been disclosed. We will not invent the missing ones. (Gulf News)
The other Iranian voice
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is not selling a soft landing. He says Iran must push for “battlefield success” and “devastating blows” before any talks with the United States - and that Tehran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until its conditions are met. (Al Jazeera; Asharq Al-Awsat)
Diplomacy path. Escalate-first path. Both from Iranian officials. Flattening that into “Iran wants peace” would be dishonest.
What Washington’s commander claims
CENTCOM’s Adm. Brad Cooper said Saturday that U.S. forces assisted more than 2,000 commercial ship transits through Hormuz and that over 1 billion barrels of crude from Gulf partners crossed the strait “in the last couple of months,” while claiming “Iran has exported zero barrels thanks to our ironclad blockade.” That is Cooper’s claim, reported by Asharq Al-Awsat. Barrels moved for partners is not a new taxpayer war-cost total.
The decision still hanging
Trump told Axios Thursday: “I have a big decision coming up. Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?” He is expected Tuesday to meet leaders of six Gulf states on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly. The decision has not been announced. There is no new strike order in this piece. (Anadolu Agency)

Working families do not get a press conference when the forever-war premium hits the commute and the grocery truck. Congress owes the country an end to blank-check wars - not another escalation sold as strength while the kitchen table keeps the ledger.
