At the U.N. He Talks Momentum - and Annihilation. Hormuz Still Barely Moves. Delaware Diesel Climbed Again.

Dark ocean with tankers, cracked earth, golden oil drop, scales of justice, and stormy sky — Day 103 Hormuz accountability

Seven months of war. At the United Nations the President claims "momentum" toward a deal in one breath and threatens to "annihilate" Iran in the next. Hormuz commodity traffic is still a handful of ships. Delaware diesel just ticked higher. That is Day 103 - forever-war accountability, not a kinetic BREAKING.

Talks - dual-frame the format

Al Jazeera and Reuters report hours of mediated U.S.-Iran contact at UNGA week. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff described mediators shuttling between the sides and called the talks constructive. President Trump told reporters Witkoff and Jared Kushner had a three-hour "very good" / "very productive" meeting with "a lot of momentum," and another meeting "very near" - while the White House clarified Trump himself did not attend. Accounts differ on direct versus shuttle format. (Al Jazeera; Al Jazeera live)

Both frames can be true at once. A mediated shuttle is not a ceasefire. "Momentum" is not a reopened Strait of Hormuz. A three-hour meeting without Trump in the room is not a Trump-Pezeshkian summit.

Annihilate vs crushing - rhetoric, not a new strike order

In his UNGA address Trump framed a "big decision" between a rebuild deal and annihilating the Islamic Republic. Iran's Armed Forces General Staff / Khatam answered that the threats show strategic weakness and that Iran is ready for "more severe, crushing, and unpredictable blows." Attribute both. Podium language is not a new theater strike. (Al Jazeera live)

Pezeshkian's clock

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is in New York for his first UNGA address since the war - about 12:00pm ET Wednesday. No meeting with Trump is scheduled. A speech is not a deal.

Hormuz still crushed - cite today's Reuters

Reuters Wednesday preliminary Kpler data: three commodity vessels crossed Hormuz on Tuesday, down from four Monday. The recent 10-day average is about 15. Pre-war, the strait carried roughly a fifth of the world's oil and gas trade. (Reuters)

Wednesday's Reuters - Tuesday's three - is today's lead figure. A reported Iranian claim that Hormuz could reopen within seven days if the U.S. eases pressure and lifts the blockade remains an Iranian claim - offer, not reopen, not a signed deal.

Delaware diesel - and a floated export ban

AAA state averages for September 23, 2026: Delaware regular $4.3548; Delaware diesel $6.4372 (up from Tuesday's $6.4270); national regular $4.4744. (AAA)

Oil prices eased on diplomacy hopes even as European diesel cracks hit records and Trump floated backing a U.S. diesel export ban - an idea, not a law. Analysts warn such a ban could worsen global supply stress. Delaware families should not confuse a photo-op negotiating track with relief at the pump. (Reuters energy)

I am a travel ICU nurse. Working people should not keep underwriting forever-war premiums while Washington sells "momentum" and annihilation in the same week.
